You can now submit your application for this year’s CLARITY-Africa PhD Scholarship. This is an opportunity for PhD students to join the CLARITY-Africa project.
Participants will get the chance to pursue their doctoral research, either at the University of Ghana or the AIMS Research and Innovation Centre.
The scholarship will support students who are working on transformative projects; one that addresses the impacts of climate change on African cities.
About CLARITY-Africa
The CLARITY-Africa project focuses on climate change resilience and equitable solutions for healthy cities in Africa.
It is led by a consortium of prestigious institutions, including Imperial College London, the University of Ghana (UG), and the Africa Institute for Mathematical Sciences Research & Innovation Centre (AIMS RIC).
The project is conducted in collaboration with policy partners and local communities in four African cities: Accra and Tamale in Ghana, and Kigali and Musanze in Rwanda.
The main goal of CLARITY-Africa is to generate innovative knowledge on the relationship between climate change and environmental risks, specifically focusing on vulnerable groups and regions impacted by urbanization, heat, flooding, and other climate-related hazards.
The target of the project is to improve our understanding of these risks and the groups most at risk, like outdoor workers, schools, and communities exposed to extreme weather events.
