How to reset JAMB password with phone number

After creating your JAMB profile, you’ll be advised to keep your password safe. This is because you need it to access your profile.

If you forget it, you won’t be able to access JAMB CAPS, therefore, you can’t:

  • View information in your JAMB CAPS
  • Check your admission status.
  • Print your JAMB admission letter.
  • Change institutions or courses after UTME.
  • Access JAMB results, profile, and perform other important tasks unless you reset it.

Resetting your password is a way to recover it when it’s lost, and there are several ways to do JAMB password rest.

One of the easiest is by using your phone number like I will show you below.

How to reset JAMB password with phone number

To reset your JAMB password using your phone number, you can use the SMS option or you go through the JAMB portal by selecting the “Forgot Password” option and following the prompts.

Method 1: Reset via JAMB password recovery portal

To use this method:

1️⃣ Go to the JAMB e-Facility login page 👉 https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng
2️⃣ Click on “Forgot Password?”
3️⃣ Enter the phone number you used during JAMB registration.
4️⃣ Click “Get Password Reset Link”.
5️⃣ JAMB will send a password reset link to your registered email or phone number.
6️⃣ Open the link and create a new password.

Note: If you don’t receive the reset link, check your spam folder or try the SMS method below.

In addition, sometimes, JAMB will request for your email address instead of phone number.

Method 2: Reset JAMB password via SMS

If you don’t have access to your email, you can reset your JAMB password via SMS.

To use this method:

1️⃣ Open your message app on your phone.
2️⃣ Type “PASSWORD” (in capital letters).
3️⃣ Send it to 55019 or 66019 (JAMB’s official SMS code) using the phone number linked to your JAMB profile.
4️⃣ You will receive a reset link via SMS if the phone number matches the one used during registration.

4️⃣ Open the link and follow the instructions to create a new password.

If you don’t receive the link, make sure you have enough airtime, as the service requires a small fee.

After creating a new password, you can use it to log in to JAMB e-Facility.

Important:

  • You must use the phone number linked to your JAMB profile.
  • Make sure you have at least ₦100 airtime on your phone before sending the SMS.

What if you no longer have access to your registered phone number?

If you lost your registered phone number, you have two options:

🔹Option 1: Go to any JAMB Office around you: Go to any JAMB Zonal or State Office with your JAMB registration slip and a valid ID (e.g., NIN slip).
🔹Option 2: Contact JAMB Support:

  • Call +2348166335513, +2348123658955, or +2348178738255.
  • Send an email to support@jamb.gov.ng.

How to avoid losing your JAMB password in the future

To avoid losing your password in the future, you should:

        • Write it down in a secure notebook.
        • Save it in your phone’s Notes app.
        • Use a password manager to store login details.
        • Link your JAMB email to a recovery option (another email or phone number).
